Guéret Team Tennis, a young club from the Creuse landscape, is the result of a merger between ASPTT and TC Guéret.
For the second year in a row, the club has managed to stabilize its number of licenses at around 250 players.
To do this, the club’s educators, David Barre and Pierrick Signamarcheix, work in collaboration with schools in Guéret and the surrounding area to offer a discovery of the practice: “We are carrying out many actions with the schools, we have offered four sessions. one per week, where the children were able to learn the basics of the game. »

With one last session to add points in the form of small games, the club is looking for young people to have a taste for the game and, in general, between 10% and 15% of them return the following year to get the club license. “We also intervene in the context of health sports and health tennis with the IME of Guéret”, add the educators.
The general public will also be able to try out tennis during the Grancher Tennis Festival event on Saturday 11 June, in the morning for children up to the age of 12 and in the afternoon for teenagers and adults. “It’s really a tennis party, our licenses can be brought by a friend or family member, we can provide material for people who really want to try before we start and we will open pre-registration for next season. »

Regarding the activities offered by Guéret Team Tennis, another important event for the club in June should be highlighted: “We are organizing our annual tournament for seniors without level limit from 13 June to 3 July. coming. At the same time, there will also be a competition for the youngest in the 11-12 years, 13-14 years and 15-16 years categories. »
In the meantime, it is possible to come and support the first team that plays in the third division of New Aquitaine, on Sunday, June 12, in Grancher.
“Why not reach the final of the summer championship”
David, Pierrick, Arnaud, Kévin and Vincent host Angoulins in the quarter-finals after leading their group and then eliminating Bourganeuf and then Périgueux: “We hope to reach the final. In any case, the matches are playable because the classifications are homogeneous. Then, on the other side of the table, the favorite team is clearly TC Biganos 2 with two second sets in its ranks. »
For the less initiated, the classification of the Biganos team players is a little better than that of the Guéret Team Tennis.
