Under the hood of this new BMW X1, the German manufacturer offers two TwinPower Turbo diesel engines and two petrol engines. All are mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch Steptronic automatic transmission. BMW xDrive all-wheel drive is standard on the most powerful engines. At the bottom of the body, the SUV can be equipped with an optional adaptive M suspension and sporty steering.

In diesel, the two engines are in fact based on the same four-cylinder 2.0 engine paired with a lightweight 48 V hybridization. The block develops a choice of 150 hp for 360 Nm of torque in the sDrive18d version or 211 hp for 400 Nm of torque in the xDrive23d version. In this iteration, the X1 reaches 0 to 100 km / h in 7.4 seconds and reaches 225 km / h.

In essence, it is also a 2.0 four-cylinder engine paired with a light hybridization of 48 V. The X1 that works with Unleaded develops either 136 hp for 230 Nm of torque in its version sDrive 18i, or 218 hp for 360 Nm of torque in its xDrive23i version. The latter model reaches 0 to 100 km / h in 7.1 seconds and can reach 233 km / h.

Immediately after the launch of the SUV, two plug-in hybrid versions of the BMW X1 will be launched.

Named xDrive25 and xDrive30e, they develop 245 and 326 hp respectively.
