Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4 for Windows 10 adds several new settings. These are the highlights:

  1. In view of the concerns raised regarding privacy issues, several adjustments have been added in a new privacy section.
  2. Many new context menu settings for Store applications to support Windows 10.
  3. The empty.ico file is no longer needed for “Remove shortcut arrows from icons” to work properly

All settings are ranked as follows:

System information: When you open UWT4, you’ll see basic information about your system, such as operating system version, version, system type, CPU, installed RAM, computer name, username device and WEI score, etc. You also have buttons to open recovery. Options, run DISM, run System File Checker, or create a system restore point.

Customization: In this category, you can change the settings of the taskbar, thumbnails, file explorer, and modern user interface. You can choose to use a Light or Dark theme for your operating system or applications, turn off boot animations, use the default setting, or change the Battery Date and Time drop-down menus, or change the volume control, show or hide frequent folders or recent files. etc.

User Accounts: On the User Accounts tab, you can edit your user account settings, login information, and login options. You can also change your user account control settings here.

Additional system settings: In this category, you’ll see some additional system and network settings. You can also configure UWT to behave the way you want. By default, when you apply a setting and click Apply, UWT4 will automatically restart explorer.exe to apply the setting. Modify your behavior if you wish.

How to use Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4

  1. It is completely portable and does not require installation.
  2. Once you’ve downloaded the zip file, extract its contents and move the program folder to the desired location. Attach your executable file to your Start menu for easy access. Do not separate the content from the download, as it is important that the content remains in the same folder.
  3. First, create a system restore point. You can use the Create Restore Point button provided by UWT. We urge you to create one before using the tweaker, so that you can go back if you feel the need.
  4. Adjusters are for users who know what they are doing. We recommend that you do not over-adjust your system at the same time. In our experience, many people only apply all the adjustments at once, but they don’t remember which adjustment was responsible for a change they want to undo. We suggest that you apply settings for a single category each day, see how your system works, before moving on to other settings.
  5. To run Tweaker, right-click on its exe file and select Run as administrator.
  6. To apply the setting, check or uncheck the box as appropriate. Once you’ve selected one or more options, click the Apply button. Some adjustments may be applied instantly. If only a browser restart is required, the browser will restart automatically and the settings will be applied. If you need to restart your system, you will be reminded that you must restart your computer when you exit the application.
