At around 1.45pm on Saturday 7 May, a fire broke out on the ground floor of a four-storey building on rue du Montais in Montluçon. Thirteen Montluçon and Néris-les-Bains firefighters responded quickly and brought the disaster under control. Twenty-one people had to be evacuated. Three people were disturbed by the smoke, but only two were taken to hospital. Police officers, GRF agents and Enedis, as well as an elected official from Montluçon City Council, went to the scene. Residents of the building were able to return to their homes with the exception of the occupant of the flat from which the fire started. It was moved by the town hall.
