Its new undergraduate programs are part of a logic of overlapping programs that allow students to make the choices that best suit their desires and their professional reality; for example, a higher education manager who wants to hone his or her skills in the management of higher education institutions can easily start with the firmware and advance to the higher education diploma (DESS) or master’s degree. “The 15-credit microprograms are embedded in the 30-credit DESS, which themselves are embedded in the 45-credit masters. This coherence allows everyone to choose the training that suits them and to be able to change their choice along the way “, says the Vice Dean for Development and Continuing Education of the ESF, Ahlem Ammar.

For years, the faculty has been contributing to the training of teaching professionals capable of intervening effectively in their practice environment and adapting their interventions to complex and current situations. It updated some of its existing programs and created new ones to cover the wider world of education.

This overhaul was necessary to meet current demand and hitherto unexplored training needs.

Thus, the master’s degree in educational administration has been revised and now offers new content that allows better progression of learning; With this training, a professional who has completed a DESS in leadership or management of educational institutions will broaden their perspectives on the educational reality of the world. DESS in higher education has also been added to the offer in order to promote understanding of higher education systems, organizations and stakeholders. With regard to the French language teaching program through children’s literature, it accompanies professionals who wish to increase their skills in the use of children’s literature for teaching purposes.

The recovery education program, which is very popular with teachers at all levels of education, has been updated. The courses of the master’s degree in education, orthopedagogy option, and the DESS in orthopedagogy have been revised. An orthopedics firmware has also been created. It will allow you to hone your intervention skills with students with special educational needs.

Open to the world

The Faculty of Education has wanted to carry out a redesign in line with its values and its motto, “Anchored in your community and open to the world!”

With this review, special attention has been paid to the internationalization of training. In addition to making some of its programs accessible to foreign students and adapting to the realities of partner countries, the ESF has launched a micro-program of individualized studies in education, which is only available internationally. “It was crucial that the faculty oversee the internationalization of their programs in order to offer relocated training to their overseas partners who wanted their education professionals to benefit from training with us while continuing to practice in home “, wants to concretize Ahlem Ammar.

By offering dual-concentration programs such as the DESS and the master’s degree in language teaching, the master’s degree in education administration and the DESS in higher education, the first of its kind in Quebec, the ESF hopes to cover as many training needs as is possible. to offer an interprofessional and interdisciplinary perspective to the population. “The faculty is firmly rooted in its community by offering its students a training that brings together the experience of all its teachers and that responds to the problems of society and the complex realities of the educational community. A coherent education system necessarily depends on a well-trained leadership and teachers. Thanks to our programs, we are sure to be part of this training. “
