Baccalaureate 2022 – Bac 2022: calendar, test coefficients and provisions

Following the September 2019 Baccalaureate reform that combines 40% continuous assessment and 60% final tests and recent adjustments announced by the Ministry of National Education, gives you a summary of final events, calendar, and coefficients to help guide you!

Bac 2022: final exams and their coefficients

Terminal tests include written French (coefficient 5) and oral (coefficient 5) at the end of the first year, philosophy, the two specialty tests continued in terminal and the major oral. They represent 60% of the final grade of high school.

Below you will find the details of the final exams.

Specialty tests

Students are assessed in the 2 specialties retained at the terminal. Each of the 2 tests has a coefficient of 16. This represents, therefore, 32% of the final grade (60% of the final exam).

The great oral

The major oral is marked the coefficient 10 in the general current and the coefficient 14 in the technological current.

It takes place for 40 minutes:

  • 20 minutes to prepare the answer to your question;
  • 20-minute oral presentation, which includes 5 minutes of presentation, 10 minutes of interview between the jury and the candidate on the selected topic and, finally, 5 minutes of debate on the candidate’s orientation project.

Philosophy test

The coefficient 8 is scored. During this written test, candidates have 4 hours to take one of the three proposed subjects. They will be able to choose between two theses and an explanation of the text whose author appears in the program.

What are the exam dates?

General and technological baccalaureate:

  • Specialty tests: 11, 12 and 13 May 2022.
  • Philosophy: June 15, 2022.
  • Great oral: between June 20 and June 1er July 2022.

Vocational baccalaureate:

  • Written tests and practices on computer support: from May 23 to June 3.
  • General education written tests: from 14 to 24 June.

  • Written test in French: June 16, 2022.
  • Oral French test: June 20 to June 1er July.

What are Covid’s agreements for Bac 2022?

Given the health situation that has affected the preparation conditions of BAC candidates, the Ministry of National Education has taken steps to adjust the tests for the 2022 session.

Physical education and sport

Checks during training can be reduced from 3 to 2 if the consequences of the health situation on the availability of the facilities or the preparation of the students justify it.

Specialty tests

  • The program of events will be the same as the one set for March. Therefore, candidates will have more time to work on the initial program.
  • All subjects will be arranged in such a way that everyone, depending on their specialty, can choose between questions or exercises.
  • The 2 days prior to the tests will be dedicated, in the establishments, to the revisions of the exams, having the terminal students only their specialty courses.
  • The specific tests of the language level certificate are canceled, exceptionally, for the 2022 session.
  • In the procedure for orientation to higher education, it will be the averages obtained in the teachings of the specialty during the three terms of the first class and the first two terms of the final class that will be taken into account instead of the marks obtained by the aspirants in the specialized written tests.

Modalities of the professional itinerary

The minimum duration of professional training periods (PFMP) is reduced from 7 to 8 weeks compared to the usual durations. The minimum thresholds for major certifications are as follows:

  • Vocational baccalaureate prepared in 3 years, 10 weeks (instead of 18 to 22 weeks depending on the specialty);
  • Vocational baccalaureate prepared in 2 years, 8 weeks (instead of 18 to 22 weeks depending on the specialty);
  • CAP, prepared in 2 or 3 years, 5 weeks (instead of 12 to 14 weeks depending on the specialty).

Early French oral tests

The number of texts to be presented orally will be reduced to 16 in the general way and 9 in the technological way.

Results dates and updates

The results of the general, technological and professional baccalaureate will be communicated from Tuesday 5 July.

As a reminder, the recovery process is awarded to candidates with an average of between 8 and 9.99 / 20 at the end of the first high school session.

Recovery recitals will be held from Wednesday, July 6, to Friday, July 8, 2022.
