“From the beginning of the strikes in Ukraine, everyone felt involved. We felt the need to do something, ”said Gilbert Raynal, manager of the bus company of the same name in Cahors in the Lot. Therefore, he allied himself with the Cahors Auto Retro and the Rotary Club Cahors carry out an action that culminated this Tuesday, March 29, in the early afternoon, by thesending a 4th bus full of donations for Ukrainian refugees in Romania.
In previous weeks, three buses have already left (one per week). The Raynal company thus donated two coachesincluding one from 2006 that left that day, and filled two more to send by a charity of the Romanian Orthodox Churchfor whom it is responsible redistribute directly to Ukrainian refugees or send them through your local network in Ukraine.
The two donated buses will be used on site to pick up and repatriate Ukrainian refugees.
Gilbert Raynal was able to mount this operation in a few days, mainly thanks to his personal contacts in this region of Europe.

With Rotary and Cahors Auto Retro
Two Cadurcian associations joined in this operation: the Rotary Club of Cahors, of which Gilbert Raynal is a member, and the Cahors Auto Retro. Both contribute to the costs of moving the bus, first to Offenburg, in the west of Germany where the headquarters of the Romanian association are located. There, the association takes over to complete the road to Iasi, Romania, 10 km from the border with Moldova and not far from Ukraine.

If the first coaches carried a lot of clothes, in the latter no less than 25 m3 of basic necessities were shipped: medicines, medical supplies, batches of blankets, baby products … Cahors Auto Rétro is committed to this action on the initiative. of its vice-president Christian Piéron, who started the collection with Cars Raynal. The collection includes several people, but also associations and communities such as the Passerella de Vaylats, the town halls of Espère, Puy-l’Évêque, Boissières, Pradines, the hospital of Cahors, etc.

For its part, the Rotary Club of Cahors did not raise money but used the contributions of its members. buy hygiene products (toothpaste, toothbrushes, baby diapers, baby milk, energy bars, feminine hygiene products, soaps, first aid kit, etc.) from the E. Leclerc center in Cahors, which sold these products at a cost price .
They also bought reusable survival sleeping bags and rechargeable dynamo lights at the Intersport store at a preferential price. In total, Rotary donations represent nothing more and nothing less than € 20,000 in market value. The Banque Populaire members’ association also donated $ 500 to Rotary.
Two drivers, Sergei and Paul, will make non-stop shifts to Germany (to avoid any security issues) where they are scheduled to arrive on March 30. There they will pass the baton to the Romanian association that will complete the trip.
A last bus could leave for Romania in April, but nothing has been finalized yet.
